Catch Air: Robin Rhode @ Wexner Center



Watch the video about contemporary street artist, Robin Rhode. Contemplate the materials and locations he uses to make his art. How does his art express or communicate contemporary issues? Discuss how the medium/materials/locations he chooses support his ideas.

  1. stop-motion animation is always so interesting to watch. it requires a lot creativity,and needs the artist to think a lot about gesture,perspective and space.

  2. I agree with Molly on how stop animation seems like a difficult process.
    His stop animation and street art allows the viewer to see how the artist (a 3-D being) is part of a 2-D object or wall drawing. His art is located in poverty areas and where theft is high, and it connects how a regular day object with the people. His art is mainly about illusions and how the 3-D is with the 2-D, displayed as a story.

  3. Robin Rhodes art work is really cool. He creates 2D art in a way that it appears to be 3D. This seems to be an extremely hard process. He illustrates his works on walls in cities. These walls are located in areas where poverty exists. His works to me are inspiring.
